Birmingham's first organic hair salon, Puro Hair, has announced the appointment of a team of experienced stylists as the new salon on John Bright Street prepares for its official launch.

Puro Hair founder Sarah Simpson-Davies has recruited a salon director, advanced stylist and stylist as the Midlands entrepreneur gears up for the salon's launch party on Friday 3 September. According to Sarah, the new employees are all committed to the Puro Hair's organic ethos. Sarah explained: "Finding the right calibre of professional was such a high priority for me in establishing a new salon concept for Birmingham. Every aspect of the salon has been designed to create a spa-like ambience that ensures each client has a relaxing and revitalising experience and the staff are vital to such a client focussed approach.

"It was also incredibly important to me that all of the staff shared my belief in organic hairdressing and would be great advocates of this approach. I was fortunate to find three highly experienced and talented individuals who are creative, energetic and ambitious and will help set the standard of professional, organic hairdressing in Birmingham."

The new Puro Hair team is led by salon director Sally Vlaisavljevic. With a decade of experience in the industry, Sally joins the team from a Lichfield salon, where she held the position of assistant manager. Sally has a friendly, calming persona and has mentored and trained many members of staff throughout her career.

Advanced stylist Ilana Halter has been in hairdressing for eight years and has a wealth of experience that includes studio work, teaching NVQ students and several years as a stylist in top salons. Ilana is committed to the principles of organic hairdressing and will work closely with Sarah Simpson-Davis to develop specialist services for Cancer patients and alopecia clients. She will also lead the salon's in-house training programme.

Danny Law joins Puro Hair as a stylist from his previous post with a makeover and photography studio.  Bringing four years of experience to his current role, Danny will continue to progress his career by taking an NVQ Level Three qualification while working at Puro Hair. He will also complete a men's creative hair cutting course, building on Danny's own creative expertise and highly original sense of style.

The Puro Hair concept is based on an ethos of 'wellbeing', with all clients treated to a holistic spa-like experience. A comfortable and calming environment, the Puro Hair salon has been designed to provide a stress-free experience. Every consideration has been given to the needs of clients, with a screened area available for those who would like added privacy, for example people suffering hair loss or followers of particular religions. All clients receive a relaxing scalp massage in the 'calm zone'; and comfortable sofa seating, chilled music, and a large selection of complimentary organic refreshments ensure that clients receive the first class treatment.

Puro Hair uses products from Herb UK's Organic Colour Systems and Organic Care Systems ranges, which contain certified organic ingredients. All the products in the ranges are 100 per cent ammonia free and contain the lowest levels of P-Phenylenediamine (PPD) to reduce irritation on the skin and burning on the scalp. The highly advanced formulations promote longer lasting, safer hair colour, resulting in less cuticle damage and overall healthier hair condition. The products are so gentle they are recommended by nurses at Guy's and St. Thomas' hospitals.

Other product ranges at Puro Hair include Alterna hemp organic haircare, a luxury haircare range using enzyme therapy, and Purology, an award winning haircare range containing organic botanical ingredients.

Puro Hair will host a launch party at the salon on Friday 3 September from 4pm until 7pm. The event will include 100 per cent natural skin care from Live Native Products, a range described as food for the skin. Skin clinic Birmingham will also be on hand to carry out skin analysis for partygoers who will be treated to organic canapés and drinks. Attendance is strictly by invitation only and members of the public can contact the Puro Hair salon on 0121 616 1168 if they would like receive an invite.
