A county company awarded a grant from the Shropshire Business
Enterprise Fund has gone from strength to strength and is soon to
employ its third member of full-time staff.
C2 Recruitment was set up in 2008 by Shane Hawkins and after two
years of successful home trading has now moved into new offices and
employed two members of staff - thanks to a Business Booster
Grant.
Since it began C2 Recruitment has achieved positive year-on-year
growth despite tough economic conditions.
Managing Director Shane said: "We work hard to offer a more
personal service for both clients and candidates.
"Our main advantage is that we are one of the only recruitment
agencies in Shrewsbury to operate both locally and nationwide which
means we have more permanent vacancies. We even recruit
abroad.
"We are also accredited members of the Recruitment and
Employment Confederation (REC) and I am a committee member on their
Sales and Retail Board so I ensure standards at C2 Recruitment are
the highest they can be."
Following its success and expansion the business is now based at
the Rural Enterprise Centre in Battlefield.
Councillor Mike Owen, Shropshire Council's Cabinet member for
economy, said: "One of Shropshire Council's top priorities is to
help and support local businesses, and the Business Enterprise Fund
was set up to support small companies during the economic downturn.
I'm therefore delighted that C2 recruitment is doing so well as a
result of the Business Booster Grant that they have received under
the Fund, and I wish them every success for the future."
The Business Booster grant offers funding to help purchase
capital items for businesses that have been trading for between
nine months and three years, and are looking to take the next step
in their growth.
Shane added: "I have employed two members of staff since
receiving the grant support and I am looking to employ a third in
the near future. "Having the office and IT equipment in place
for them was essential so the support from the Booster grant helped
me greatly in enabling me to take on these employees and grow the
business relatively quickly."
