Businesses which are struggling to meet the costs of going on
the road to show their products and services to their customers are
being offered a new money-saving option by exhibition and roadshow
specialist Mobex - trailer refurbishment.
The Gloucestershire firm say that trailers which have seen years
of service can often be made to look as good as new at around a
quarter of the cost of buying a new one - saving companies
thousands.
"Tatty, worn-out trailers create a bad impression and take
longer to set up and operate" says Mobex MD Allan Plant. "The
sides get covered in dirt and green algae which is hard to clean
off without specialist equipment. You find the fixings don't
work properly any more and it takes hours to prepare and take
down again. The inside gets mildewed, carpets start to
smell stale and the electrics may be on the blink. There may
be health & safety and roadworthiness problems.
"But that doesn't mean you have to hide your old trailer in a
corner of the yard and start saving for a new one. We'll
collect the old unit from you at the end of the season and bring it
back to you fully refurbished, ready for many more years of
cost-effective service."
The refurbishment service includes repair and renewal of running
gear and tyres, stripping out and replacing décor and
carpets, checking and repairing electrical systems and cleaning and
refinishing of the exterior. The exterior can be rebranded to
bring the graphics up to date. Steel chassis components can
be shotblasted to renew the finish.
Mobex has more than 30 years' experience in the hire,
manufacture, design and management of exhibition trailers and
indoor stands. It has probably the largest trailer stock in
the UK and is the only British company to design and build both
mobile units and internal stands. Clients include many local
authorities and public organisations, as well as a wide range of
businesses from SMEs to multinationals. The company has
supplied units for more than 20,000 events to date, including
almost 1000 in 2009 alone.
