A brand new course offering local people the chance to gain
professional qualifications in finance and accountancy is due to be
launched in the county.
Shrewsbury-based Advance CPD will be launching the Association
of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) course on the 13th
September and is inviting all those interested in furthering their
skills in the field to attend dedicated advice and enrolment
sessions at its training centre in Castle Street in
Shrewsbury.
The sessions are being held on August 20th between 2pm-6pm,
August 21st between 10am-1pm, and September 6th between 4.30pm-7pm,
and will offer interested parties the opportunity to talk to the
team about the course, as well as to have any questions answered.
"The idea behind introducing this course is to give people
across Shropshire and the Border Counties the opportunity to study
close to home, while providing them with valuable face-to-face
support and guidance," explained Adrian Mason, Principal and Chief
Executive of Advance CPD.
"There is currently no resource of this kind in the area
offering a full programme of ACCA study, which has meant that those
living in the county have either had to travel to cities like
Birmingham and Manchester, or undertake home study or distance
learning.
"For many individuals this is often not practical or viable, and
results in ambitious and talented local people being unable to
progress in their career or fulfil their dreams, a key reason why
this course is so vitally important."
The course will offer all ACCA subjects, covering areas
including financial accounts, tax and auditing, enabling students
to be taught the entire programme of study from beginning to end,
by highly experienced tutors in a professional learning
environment.
Course tutor, Dennis Pitt, commented: "We acknowledge that
people lead busy lives and that 'one size doesn't fit all', which
is why this course is designed to be as flexible as possible.
Individuals can choose exactly how they want to study for
their qualification, in a way that complements their personal,
professional and educational circumstances.
"We invite anyone looking to advance their skills in this field
to get in touch and find out more. Whether you are already on
the career ladder and wish to go higher, or are just starting out,
we can offer a programme to suit you."
