Solicitors from Nottingham-based Fraser Brown will be striding
out across three countries in just 24 hours as they take on the
renowned Three Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise £10,000 for
Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team of 21 will be attempting to conquer the three highest
mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike
and Mount Snowdon respectively - assisted by a support team of six.
The challenge entails trekking a total of 26 miles and travelling
more than 500 in less than a day.
The exciting challenge will begin on Saturday 21 August at 6am
and the team will aim to finish by the same time on Sunday 22
August. Team leader Richard Wollacott, said, "The Three Peaks
Challenge is becoming quite well known but that doesn't mean it's
easy. Climbing just one of these mountains would be a challenge for
most of us so doing three is a row will be particularly
testing.
"With just an hour and a half allowance for mistakes we know
it's going to take real determination to get through but hopefully
we'll support each other and be driven forward in the knowledge
we're raising money for such a good cause."
All monies raised by the challenge will go to Macmillan Cancer
Support, a charity that provides practical, medical and financial
support for those affected by cancer and pushes for better cancer
care.
Richard added, "Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity close to
all of our hearts at Fraser Brown. At some point we have all seen
how cancer can so swiftly enter and affect the lives of those we
love, without warning and seemingly without reason. We know we have
set ourselves a tremendous challenge both in physical and
fundraising terms but this will simply make it all the more
rewarding when we succeed!"
The team is aiming to raise a total of £10,000 through
personal and corporate donations. To pledge your support visit
