latest Leicestershire development
Miller Homes East Midlands' staff member Peter Lee has been
bowled over by his leaving gift, following his retirement from the
award-winning housebuilder.
Peter, a former professional county cricketer, was presented
with a Miller Homes branded cricket bat, signed by his colleagues,
to mark 13 years of service as a forklift truck driver.
During his time as a cricketer, Peter played for both Lancashire
and Northamptonshire, and twice achieved the now-rare feat of
taking more than 100 wickets in an English first-class season.
Recently, Peter has played a major role in establishing Miller
Homes' new Augustus Park development in Enderby as one of
Leicestershire's most desirable places to live.
"Peter has been a model employee during his time with us,"
commented Malcolm Ceney, production director at Miller Homes East
Midlands. "He has played an important part in helping to maintain
the incredibly high standards of our forklift truck drivers.
"His professionalism and, of course, his cricketing stories,
have made him a hugely popular member of the team and he will be
missed."
Following the presentation, Peter added: "The cricket bat really
is a suitable memento of my time with Miller Homes and it will take
pride of place in my own home. It's a great way of remembering the
two jobs that have played such an important part in my life."
Peter's retirement comes as Augustus Park continues to attract
huge levels of interest, making it one of the most popular
developments in the region.
The site, off Narborough Road, benefits from easy access to the
motorway network and is in close proximity to several good leisure
centres, excellent schools and shopping destinations.
Augustus Park's mix of three, four and five-bedroomed
properties, with prices ranging from £167,950 -
£286,950, have proved an instant hit with homebuyers.
