The judging schedule involves informal interviews which will take place throughout September. The shortlisted company's will meet with the category's panel of judges, who will identify the top three and overall category winner.

All category winners and the overall Family Business of the Year will be announced at a glittering ceremony on the 11th November 2010, at the family-owned Thrumpton Hall near Nottingham.

Amongst the 2010 Awards' judges are Carrie Rubin, Director of Pentland Group who will judge Business Innovation of the Year with Nitin Khanna of EFG Private Bank and Shahid Sheikh of the IOD, whilst the panel for The Fastest Growing Family Business will be judged by local entrepreneur Andrew Springhall, Martin Boddy and Richard Comer of Connect Midlands, and Lorna Collins of Bristol University
