Professional services firm Deloitte has significantly
strengthened its corporate finance advisory team in Birmingham with
the appointment of Steve White as senior director.
Steve, an experienced transactor, joins the team from Deloitte
in the South East, where he led the firm's corporate finance team
in Cambridge and St Albans.
During his four years in the role he established a corporate
finance team which completed thirteen successful transactions
including the buyout of Charterhouse Print Management and the
disposal of Pegasus Retirement Homes. Steve also led Deloitte's
corporate finance automotive sector team.
As a senior director in Deloitte's Birmingham corporate finance
team, Steve will be reunited with his former colleague in the South
East, Darren Boocock.
Darren, partner and head of the team, said: "This is an exciting
development for us. The sustained pick up in M&A activity in
the region over the last six to nine months, and our confidence in
the future, suggests that now is the right time to expand our team.
Landing Steve is a fantastic coup. I've known him for a
number of years and I know he will leverage his considerable deal
expertise for our clients' benefit.
"He has a wealth of experience of advising clients on strategies
to grow and realise shareholder value, as well as a strong track
record in deal origination and execution.
"His appointment demonstrates Deloitte's continued commitment to
the Midlands and our confidence in the regional economy. It
is an important step in our ongoing investment in the Birmingham
corporate finance team and our ambition is to grow it further."
Steve said: "I'm looking forward to working with Darren again.
Under his leadership, the corporate finance team has established a
strong reputation in the local marketplace. I have been
particularly impressed by the quality and strength of their client
relationships. I will bring additional senior expertise to
benefit both our clients and deal situations."
