Court battle returns for charity fundraiser

Nottingham-based Fraser Brown Solicitors is continuing its fundraising efforts with a charity netball tournament taking place on the 16th September and is calling for teams to sign up and help raise money for Nottingham Women's Centre.

Following a successful and competitive first tournament last year, this year's event is set to be even better with places for 16 teams up for grabs.

The event is part of a programme of fundraising activity that Fraser Brown organises throughout the year. Heather Mitchell from Fraser Brown said, "Last year's tournament was such a success that we wanted to bring it back this year and hopefully make it even better! After the football tournament that we hold in April the netball is a good opportunity for the girls to get involved and we're aiming to raise over £1,500 for the Nottingham Women's Centre from this event."

Raising money is the main aim of the evening but it will also provide an ideal opportunity for some relaxed networking. Heather added, "After the hard fought matches teams will be able to relax with food and drink which will provide an ideal opportunity to network and chew over the finer details of the match! We hope to see teams from last year returning for a rematch along with plenty of new teams coming together to make this a fun and competitive event."

Proceeds from the tournament will go to Nottingham Women's Centre, a city-wide community centre in the heart of Nottingham which aims to offer a safe environment for all women to come together to gain confidence, develop skills, take part in training, get support and organise groups, activities and services.

The netball tournament will be held at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre on 16th September 2010, with registration starting at 5.30pm. The entrance fee is £100 which includes food and drink for all competitors. There will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
