Crystal Nissan and Renault dealerships in Lincolnshire have a
new man at the helm to help them navigate the competitive auto
retail market.
Chris Whitehead, who was formerly Sales Manager at Crystal of
Grantham, has been promoted to General Sales Manager and is
now responsible for overseeing operations at the Crystal Motor
Group's three sites in Lincoln, Grantham and Boston.
The group also has a new Group Service Manager: Tony Webster was
appointed to manage the after-sales service departments at the
three Crystal sites as well as at Astle BMW in Scunthorpe and
Grimsby.
Chris, from Grantham, has been working for the company for over
21 years and said he's looking forward to the challenge.
"I've really enjoyed working for the Crystal Motor Group and I'm
delighted to have been promoted to the role of General Sales
Manager. In today's economy selling cars has become more of a
challenge and dealers have to be more innovative in their
approach and go that extra mile to secure a sale.
"Crystal is Lincolnshire's largest independent car retailer and
it's what I'd call a proper motor dealer. Our business is
focused on people rather than numbers as we're not governed by
the manufacturer, which also means we have more autonomy and
can respond more quickly to changes in the marketplace.
"As employees we have more control over our own destiny which
makes me more passionate about the business and strengthens my
will to succeed. Being privately owned there's less
bureaucracy, which means we have more time to spend with
customers."
New Group Service Manager Tony, from Barton-on-Humber, worked
for Astle BMW for nine years before it was taken over by the
Crystal Motor Group in 2007.
"This business is more about people than cars and some of
customers have been buying their vehicles from us for as long
as I've worked here," said Tony.
"Whether they're are buying a Nissan or a BMW people our
customers receive the same high levels of service before and
after their purchase.
"Each dealership has its own set of challenges and customer
demographic, but working across all five sites gives me an
overview of the challenges we're facing as an
industry.
"We can also share ideas and best practice to ensure the
performance across all of the Crystal Motor Group dealerships
is consistently high."
