Browne Jacobson has posted a robust set of results for the
financial year ending 30 April 2010 with turnover rising 7.2% to
£32.9m from last year's £30.7m.
All areas of the business performed well with its three offices
- Birmingham, Nottingham and London - all generating turnover
growth.
The firm has continued to invest across all three offices,
recruiting four additional partners and 28 other lawyers bringing
the total number of legal staff at the firm to 259 with 69
partners.
Managing Partner Iain Blatherwick, commented:
"Given the difficult trading conditions we are very pleased with
this healthy return to growth.
"All of our teams have been working harder and smarter over the
last twelve months in making sure we meet our clients' expectations
on all fronts.
"We have not increased our headline rates for three years now,
so the growth is genuinely delivered from people working
harder.
"A steady rise in instructions from new public and private
sector clients, as well as our long standing and loyal client base,
has also been a major contributing factor and bodes well for the
future.
"Despite these encouraging financial results we are very aware
the economy remains fragile in many areas and we know the next 12
months will prove just as challenging as the last.
"With a highly competitive marketplace and growing client
demands our strategy is to continue to invest in developing the
innovative legal solutions so important to our clients."
