Bank Holiday fun at Shugborough

Children and adults alike will have a chance to play traditional Victorian children's games at Shugborough this Bank Holiday.

The Victorian play workshops include hopscotch, hoopla, Diablo and skipping fun in the stableyard, all led by a costumed character straight from the past.

The play workshops are just part of a whole host of traditional Bank Holiday entertainment at the tourist attraction which also includes stunning horse and carriage rides through the parkland, and face painting.

In the walled garden area youngsters can try their hand dipping and rolling their very own candles and the blacksmith, jewellery-maker, leather maker, hurdle-maker and wood turner will all be demonstrating their skills to the public as well as selling their wares.

Every day youngsters can take a fun train ride, meet the friendly animal characters at the farm, listen to storytimes and take part in quizzes. They can also help out with traditional cheese and butter making.

The tearoom is open daily and offers a range of healthy children's meals as well as homemade cakes and treats. The old-fashioned sweetshop and the ice cream parlour will also be open.

Shugborough is open daily from 11am until 5pm.
