A team of Shropshire dental health specialists have signed up to
take part in the Birmingham Half Marathon after being egged on by
several of their patients.
Members of the seven-strong team from The Dental Spa in
Shrewsbury are now seeking sponsorship for the run to raise funds
for the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre Appeal which needs £3.2
million to build a new Cancer Centre for people in Shropshire and
Mid Wales. The appeal, which was started in 2004, reached the
£3 million milestone in April this year.
The Dental Spa has been a regular fundraiser, supporting both
local and national charities since its inception. The Oxon Business
Park based clinic is the hub practice for Velvet Group. Velvet
Director, Mark Harris, also recently cycled from London to Paris to
boost funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Joining Mark Harris in the Birmingham Marathon on 24th
October will be dentist Emily Wright, laser nurse Wendy
Hartwig and dental nurses Deb Thomas, Rachel Stanley, Ceri
Jones and Michele Roberts.
