The drpgroup held its annual summer conference on the 26th July
at the Hellidon Lakes Golf & Spa Hotel near Daventry. The
conference saw the 75 drpteam members from all UK offices and
business divisions come together for a day of teambuilding
activities, business messages and relaxation as the group gears up
to take on the second half of the year.
The conference began in the morning with presentations from the
board of directors outlining key achievements for each of their
divisions and setting out their plans to grow and develop their
areas over the next six months. Managing director Dale Parmenter
gave the overall group perspective, sharing the success stories
born of the group's ambitious 'Thirty 30s' series of anniversary
challenges which were launched as the group moved into its 30th
year in business. Dale announced that 20 of the challenges had been
completed so far which equated to a huge success considering each
of the '30s' consisted of an additional 30 actions to be carried
out within them. This means that 500 individual actions, including
some to simplify the business, improve customer service, improve
environmental practices and benefit selected charities, have
already been carried out.
The afternoon consisted of a strategic session, combining
leaning and fun activities. The delegates participated in
teambuilding exercises designed to emphasises the drpgroup 'One
Team' approach. Team members from across departments worked
together to complete a range of challenges all focused around the
group's core values of trust, passion, belief, understanding and
effectiveness. The evening saw all team members relax with an
outdoor barbeque helping to cap off the day and leave the group
energised and ready to face the next 6 months.
Dale Parmenter commented: "It is vital for any business to take
the time to communicate with their staff in this way. The value of
every team member sitting down and working together is undervalued
by many businesses but always understood by those that are most
successful. Our conference has given the team the time to refocus
on their goals for 2010 as well as celebrate their successes so far
so I have no doubt that we will see the benefits of this event in
the coming months and throughout the remainder of 2010."
