Birmingham law firm Irwin Mitchell has proved it is the best
when it comes to rehabilitation for their seriously injured clients
with a win at the Rehabilitation First Awards in London, winning
for the third year running the award for "Rehabilitation Initiative
of the Year - Claimant Solicitor"
Hosted by the insurance industry's key publication Post Magazine
at the Merchant Taylor's Hall, London, the awards highlight the
pioneering efforts of businesses and people supporting the
role of rehabilitation for anyone who has been severely
injured
The awards are part of the Post Magazine's Rehabilitation First
Campaign, now in its 6th year. Stuart Henderson, Regional Managing
Partner at the firm's Birmingham office said: "Rehabilitation is at
the forefront of everything we do for our clients - we all strive
to ensure they receive the very best levels of care and
rehabilitation. The work we do helps victims and their families
rebuild their lives from serious injury and, in many cases, funds a
lifetime of future care and support and enables them to have the
best possible quality of life".
"This award is testament to Irwin Mitchell's commitment to
rehabilitation and we are delighted to have been recognized in this
way. Anything that helps raise awareness of what rehabilitation is
all about is excellent news and we will continue trying to deliver
inspired solutions to help clients overcome the challenges they
face."
It was a serious brain injury case that highlighted Irwin
Mitchell's continuing commitment to rehabilitation. The claimant, a
22-year-old graduate with a promising career as a computer software
developer ahead of him, sustained life-threatening injuries when
his car cut out on the motorway and was hit from behind by another
vehicle.
Irwin Mitchell co-ordinated a comprehensive rehabilitation
programme that significantly helped his recovery. After a year in
hospital he returned to live with his parents but further
rehabilitation and support has enabled him to move into his own
home. He is now able to enjoy a wide range of social and leisure
activities in the community.
