Unipart has the White Stuff for Leicester

Acting on behalf of logistics provider Unipart Group, global real estate adviser DTZ has successfully agreed a new, ten-year lease at Link 21, Grove Park in Leicester with fashion retailer White Stuff, represented by leading Midlands commercial property specialist Andrew and Ashwell.

The building comprises 90,729 sq ft with a passing rent of £415,000 per annum. This recent deal will see White Stuff more than double the size of its facility following the company's relocation to Link 21 from a total of 40,000 sq ft in Leicester and Fareham, Hampshire. The new premises will enable White Stuff to further expand its business in the UK.

Link 21 is part of the Grove Park development located just off Junction 21 of the M1 motorway, close to Leicester city centre and the Fosse Park retail area. The modern industrial building was constructed in 1998 and comprises a 79,518 sq ft warehouse and three storey offices extending to 11,211 sq ft. Other tenants on site include Centrica, NHS and Topps Tiles. White Stuff, which opened its first store in London in 1991 now has 64 stores across the UK including Leicester and Nottingham.

Nigel Fisher, Property Manager at White Stuff said: ''We relocated our main warehouse from London to Leicester three years ago and have already outgrown it.  Link 21 at Grove Park provided us with an ideal opportunity to expand and consolidate our distribution operation whilst staying in the Leicester area for the foreseeable future. ''

Helen Longstaffe, Logistics Director at DTZ in Nottingham said: "We are delighted to have secured this recent letting at Grove Park. We worked closely with our client Unipart Group to ensure that the lease was agreed within a short timescale in order to meet the tenant's requirements. Good co-ordination and liaison between all parties was key to the success of this deal and we are very pleased with the result."

Malcolm Grayson, Director of Andrew and Ashwell said "The acquisition really came down to one of two buildings, with Link 21 having greater growth potential. We are delighted to have secured agreeable terms for our client's preferred property".
