The sky's the limit at Midlands based Oakland International,
with staff again taking up the challenge of raising much needed
cash for children's charity Acorns Children's Hospice, this time
with a sponsored team skydive.
Oakland Team spokesperson, Hayley Smith, stated: "They asked us
if we ever wanted to do anything else and we all thought, why
not?"
A specialist in the supply chain arena of warehousing and
logistics, Oakland has previously raising £1,000 for the
charity, with Team Oakland now aiming to raise even more with a
sponsorship target of £10,000 by the 25th September. The
skydive is just one of a number of challenge opportunities promoted
by the Acorn's fundraising team in 2010.
Said Hayley: "Oakland's Management Development Programme
encourages thinking outside of the training box and our immediate
work environment, and as part of our team building and
organizational skills training, consider how we can link-in with
existing initiatives already supported by the Company. With
Acorns such an amazing organization, we've all jumped at the chance
to offer our support and by taking part in this, our second team
challenge of 2010, who knows what will be next?"
Oakland Team members include Keith Davies, Lisa Lloyd-Smith, Ben
Ford, Yvette Hannon, Rachelle Walker, Hussam Hossien, Kazik
Libront.
Currently caring for over 500 life limited and life threatened
children and young people and their families in the region, Acorns
Children's Hospice offers specialist nursing and support services,
providing a vital lifeline for families who would face a much
tougher challenge if they had to cope alone.
