Lanyon Bowdler are pleased to announce that solicitor Stephen
Scully, based in the criminal department at the Telford offices,
has successfully achieved his Higher Rights Qualification.
Stephen completed his Law degree at the University of Glamorgan,
Pontypridd in 1998, and qualified as a Solicitor in 2001. He is
also a Police Station Accredited Representative and a qualified
Duty Solicitor.
In order to achieve the Higher Rights Qualification, Stephen had
to submit a portfolio to the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which
demonstrated his advocacy experience in Magistrates and Crown Court
cases, and also at Parole Board hearings. The qualification enables
solicitors to exercise rights of audience in the Higher Courts of
England and Wales. Stephen is the fifth member of Lanyon Bowdler to
achieve this qualification, joining Adrian Roberts, Jo Griffiths,
Ros Caldicott and Dean Easthope.
In addition to handling Crown Court cases, Stephen also deals
with general Magistrates Court matters, including motoring law.
Stephen comments "I am pleased that I can now provide specialist
advocacy services to our clients, and further enhance the expertise
offered by Lanyon Bowdler".
