Birmingham's first organic hair salon, Puro Hair, has agreed a deal with Herb UK, the largest independent, own brand manufacturer of hair products in the country. The new salon on John Bright Street is now Birmingham's only supplier of products from the Organic Colour Systems and Organic Care Systems ranges.

Founded by entrepreneur and professional hair stylist/ colourist Sarah Simpson-Davies, Puro Hair is an independent business and Birmingham city centre's first salon to only use Organic Colour Systems. Set to launch in July, the Puro Hair concept is based on an ethos of 'wellbeing', with the design and layout of the salon promoting a holistic spa-like ambience, ensuring all clients enjoy a relaxing and comfortable experience. 

Herb UK has approved Puro Hair to use its Organic Colour Systems and Organic Care Systems ranges which contain certified organic ingredients. Organic Colour Systems is the first range of long-lasting, permanent hair colours containing certified organic extracts and natural ingredients, which have been formulated to cover all grey hair. Organic Care Systems is a range of shampoos, treatments and conditioners which use the latest natural and certified organic ingredients. 

All the products in the ranges are 100 per cent ammonia free and contain the lowest levels of P-Phenylenediamine (PPD) to reduce irritation on the skin and burning on the scalp. The highly advanced formulations promote longer lasting, safer hair colour, resulting in less cuticle damage and overall healthier hair condition. The products are so gentle they are recommended by nurses at Guy's and St. Thomas' hospitals.

Sarah Simpson-Davies explained why the deal with Herb UK is so important to the success of the new salon. She said: "My motivation behind setting up Birmingham's first organic salon was  based on the long-held concerns I have about using chemicals on hair, with irritation and allergies being common problems and certain chemicals also linked to cancer.  I want to offer a pioneering service that puts the comfort and care of the client first and therefore provides a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. While every detail of the salon has been designed to reflect this approach, the deal with Herb UK means I am able to use a highly regarded range of haircare products and colour systems containing organic certified ingredients that deliver professional results and promote healthier hair.

The Puro Hair salon has been designed to provide a calming, stress-free experience. All clients will receive a relaxing scalp massage in the 'calm zone'; and comfortable sofa seating, chilled music, and a large selection of complimentary organic refreshments will all ensure that clients receive the first class treatment.
