Ten Nottingham back-to-work experts are taking their fundraising
efforts to new heights - literally.
The team, who all work at employment and skills specialists
Working Links in the city, will be taking part in the Three Peaks
Challenge to raise money for a number of charities.
The Challenge - taking place in September - sees the team
climbing the three highest peaks, respectively, in England, Wales
and Scotland within 24 hours. This means topping the 1085-metre
Snowdon in four hours, the 978-metre Scafell Pike in five hours and
the 1344-metre Ben Nevis in five hours.
Charities set to benefit from the day are Alzheimer's Research
Trust, The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths, Cancer
Research UK, WaterAid, The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air
Ambulance Charitable Trust.
As part of the tenth anniversary of Working Links, an
organisation that helps tackle social exclusion and poverty through
its work across the UK, all its 2,000-strong staff are to give up a
day of work to volunteer for charity - known as a Rainbow Day.
So far, the group has raised more than £650 but hope to
raise at least £1000. To donate, visit
