Local law firm Lanyon Bowdler are delighted to have been able to
contribute to the recent purchase of a new evacuation chair for
charity, Headway Shropshire. The law firm, through funds
raised by its own Charities Committee, has contributed
£500.00 towards the cost of the equipment.
The evacuation chair, which is an important item of safety
equipment, will enable staff at Headway Shropshire to now swiftly
transfer immobile individuals from an upper floor should a lift
break down, or in the event of an emergency. It also means
that members of staff do not have to undertake any heavy lifting or
manual handling.
Lanyon Bowdler are proud to work with the community, and take
their fundraising responsibilities very seriously. They have their
own Charities Committee which meets regularly to think up novel
ideas and organise fundraising activities. Each year the Committee
look for local charities to support and in 2009, the identified
charity was Headway Shropshire. Despite the credit crunch,
the partners and staff of Lanyon Bowdler have continued to dig deep
into their pockets in aid of charity and raise funds for much
needed causes.
Senior partner, and Chairman of the Lanyon Bowdler Charities
Committee Peter Flint comments "I am delighted that Lanyon Bowdler
have been able to assist Headway Shropshire in a most practical way
to purchase such an important item of safety equipment".
