Two enterprising mums from Horncastle, Lincolnshire have
launched a new environmentally friendly clothing
business.
Mpenzi sells clothes for children aged between six months to
eight years old which are all bespoke and handmade with a great
deal of care and attention with as little environmental impact as
possible.
The company has been set up by Lynda Martin (31), a busy mum
with many years of charity and business experience and Donna Hawkes
(36), a mother of three with a keen interest in fashion and
environmental concerns.
According to Lynda (31) the emerging clothing brand is going
from strength to strength.
"Mpenzi clothing is both fashionable and ethical, catering for
both boys and girls.
Since May our reversible girls dresses have been stocked by
FIRST, a reputable local clothing store and we have received order
from around the world via our' e-shop."
Lynda and Donna are also keen to emphasise that ethical and
environmentally conscientious practices are at the core of their
business ethos.
"We believe it is a great shame to waste perfectly good
materials; all of our items are made using end of line and
up-cycled designer materials," said Donna.
"We also stock clothing from other like minded, environment
friendly brands and we invite customers to send in any unwanted
materials which we will use to make their items.
"Quality is never sacrificed; our team of seamstresses have a
combined experience of forty years and our clothing is made up of
natural fibres that are safe for a child's skin."
Mpenzi has also launched a website with new designs and products
on the way.
