Lincoln-based signage company Allen Signs has proved there's no
job too big after successfully signwriting a £800,000
130-tonne all-terrain mobile crane.
APH Cranes and Access, also based in the city, recently
purchased the Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1 and asked Allen Signs to brand
the vehicle with their logo including the 60-metre telescopic
boom.
Managing Director David Allen explained: "APH is a division of
Abba Plant Hire, which is one of our oldest customers and which has
a large fleet of heavy plant vehicles. Over the years we've
lettered a wide range of equipment from mini excavators to
tippers.
"This was quite an unusual job owing to the length of the boom
but as with every other vehicle we work on our specialist team,
which has over 40 years' experience, did a survey and provided
detailed drawings before applying the livery."
Allen Signs' vehicle livery team used Avery 700 Series Vinyl for
the lettering, which lasts up to 10 years, sourced from regular
supplier Robert Horne Group.
When the job was complete APH returned the crane to Liebherr so
they could display it at Vertikal Days 2010, which is the UK's
largest event for the lifting equipment industry, held at Haydock
Park racecourse on 16th and 17th June 2010.
APH also unveiled the latest addition to their business at the
Lincolnshire show on 23rd and 24th June which attracted over 68,000
visitors.
Cranes and Access Manager at APH Maggie Raison said they were
delighted with the work undertaken by the Lincoln-based firm.
"This is the 12th crane Allen Signs has branded for us and their
team never fails to impress us with the standard of their work and
the quality of the materials they use," said Maggie.
"This new machine is replacing a 100-tonne crane they lettered
for us and the graphics on it still look as good as they did when
they were first applied nine years ago! We wouldn't hesitate to
recommend Allen Signs to other plant hire companies who are looking
for a high-quality and efficient vehicle livery service."
