Simon Hill, Managing Director of Total Motion, the
Leicester-based vehicle management company, is a long-standing
admirer of the driving offered by his local Mercedes-Benz retailer
but now that opinion has been reversed.
Simon got his own driving off to a tee when he was one of the
winners at the Inchcape Mercedes-Benz Golf Day, which has resulted
in qualification for the next stage of one of the world's largest
amateur golf tournaments - the MercedesTrophy.
As a loyal customer, Mercedes-Benz of Leicester invited Simon to
play in the event, which was held in glorious weather at Little
Aston Golf Club in Birmingham. The 21-handicapper won his section
of the Stableford competition by one point and he will now go
forward to represent Inchcape Mercedes-Benz as part of a three-man
team in a regional final of the MercedesTrophy, which will be
played at Burhill Golf Club in Surrey on 3rd August.
If successful, Simon and his team-mates - both customers of the
group's Warrington retailers - will go forward to the UK Final. It
will be staged over four days in September at the Fairmont Resort
in St Andrew's, Scotland.
"I had a superb day in Birmingham - the event was well
organised, the course was fantastic and I went round with a great
group of people," said Simon, who is a member of Cosby Golf Club.
"I'm delighted to have qualified for Burhill and will be keeping my
fingers crossed that my form continues and I get through to St
Andrews, where I have visited recently and would love to
return."
The MercedesTrophy competition is contested by customers of
Mercedes-Benz retailers in the UK and abroad, with the winners from
each national final meeting in a World Final in Stuttgart, the home
of Mercedes-Benz.
"It's great news that one of our customers is representing us in
the MercedesTrophy regional final," said Adrian Beaumont,
Mercedes-Benz of Leicester's General Manager. "We wish Simon well
and hope that he goes much, much further in this prestigious
competition."
