Firstaid4sport, the UK's leading online supplier of sporting
first aid equipment, has landed a prestigious deal that will see it
supplying hand wraps and strapping for the majority of major
British boxing matches.
The company's wrap now has the approval of the British Boxing
Board of Control (BBBofC), which means that it will be supplying
its own branded 4Sport Pro Wrap for professional boxing matches and
to boxers such as Amir Khan and Kevin Mitchell.
The wrap is a unique conforming bandage, which is used in boxing
to provide padding to the hands, holding the bones in place, whilst
allowing fingers to move up and down during fights. The bandage
doesn't stretch length-ways, which makes it appealing to the boxing
community as it can be applied more evenly onto the boxers' hands
and thus improve performance.
Firstaid4sport's managing director Michael Davison entered the
ring with his products after approaching Dean Powell, one of the
most reputed 'hand men' in boxing. Dean liked Firstaid4sport's
products, and advised the company to seek BBBofC approval so that
he could use the tapes for his boxers.
Firstaid4sport has so far supplied 20,000 wraps and is in the
process of dealing with a second significant order for a thicker
wrap - 4Sport Pro Wrap Plus.
"We're delighted to have the approval of the BBBofC - we always
look to source the best quality for our own branded products and
this has paid off," explains Michael Davison.
"We'll look forward to seeing British boxers winning fights
wearing our wraps!"
This is not the first time that Firstaid4sport has brokered
deals to supply first aid kits and products to the world of
professional sport, with the company already supplying a number of
top flight rugby, football and cricket teams.
