Pride Park-based Silver Pride Software has given Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre some fun and laughter this Summer holiday after it stepped in to create an innovative new website and online marketing tool for the charity.

The company, which is based on Stadium Business Court in Derby, has developed the new website, installed its innovative Spark Builder content management tool and supplied the website hosting, which in all will enable the team at the children's charity to update the site regularly.

James Fairclough, who has worked with the charity for a number of years, has also stepped in to provide the design of the website.

Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre was established more than 100 years ago to provide disadvantaged Derbyshire children with holidays in Skegness and today it provides holidays for more than 450 Derbyshire children every year.

The team from Silver Pride first visited the centre last year with the then Mayor of Derby, Councillor Sean Marshall, and were given a tour of the centre's facilities, which include a TV lounge, arts and crafts and games room, along with a large sports hall, theatre, and outdoor barbecue facility.

Since then the company has been looking for ways to help and has now donated its services and installed its innovative Spark Builder, which are valued in excess of £3,000.

Silver Pride's unique content management system will allow the team to update the site regularly with news and events - as well as enabling supporters to make donations via the website.

Commenting on the new website, chairman of the centre, Bill Tomlinson said: "I would like to thank Silver Pride Software and James for donating their time and their services to the centre. They have been extremely helpful and professional throughout the process of designing and building the website.

"We are absolutely thrilled with the finished website and having the content management system will make it so much easier to look after it ourselves. The Spark builder is extremely easy to use and if you're able to use a word processor, you'll be more than capable of using this software," added Bill.

Craig Tice, director of Silver Pride added: "When we visited the Holiday Centre in Skegness last year, we were bowled over by the work they do. Seeing how happy they made the children made us want to help and we are really pleased to be able to provide them with a tool to help raise awareness for the charity.

"The Spark Builder software is ideal for an organisation such as Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre as it will allow them to take control of their website and online marketing," added Craig.
