West Midlands companies are invited to UK Trade and Investment's
(UKTI) 'International Environment and Water Clinic' on Tuesday 22
June where they will have the opportunity to meet on a one-to-one
basis with a selection of specialists from key international
markets from the environment and water sectors.
At least a tenth of the UK environmental industry's £25bn
annual turnover is generated through exports, whilst UK water
companies generate in excess of £3bn annually
overseas.
The free event has been designed for companies engaged in the
environment, water or waste water sector looking to expand overseas
and investigate prospects in key international markets. It's also a
great opportunity to find out about export support available from
UKTI.
Companies will get the chance to hold informative one-to-one
meetings with sector experts from China, Brazil, Bulgaria, Russia,
Romania, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Turkey, USA, India and Portugal
at the event at Leicester Marriott Hotel.
UKTI International Cluster Coordinator (Environmental
Technologies) for the West Midlands, James Ahearne, said:
"The environment and water sectors are an important part of the
UK economy, contributing billions of pounds in exports each year
and providing thousands of jobs in the UK.
"A wide selection of specialists from UKTI's designated
'priority' markets for the environment and water sectors will be on
hand to offer businesses expert advice. The event provides a real
opportunity to help companies develop their international business
prospects and find out more about the support available from
UKTI."
