West Midlands companies are being invited to gain advice and
insight from a top level group of public and private sector
specialists in trade with Asia.
British Ambassadors and High Commissioners to the ten Asian
countries of China, India, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan,
Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong will bring businesses
the most up to date market intelligence available.
Six Asia-based directors from event sponsors RBS will be on hand
to give focused, practical help on financial issues affecting trade
in the region. There will also be a special workshop on
intellectual property rights protection.
The Doing Business in Asia event will be staged in Manchester on
Friday, 9 July, at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate. It has been
organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the Government's
Asia Task Force.
The event is aimed at companies that already have an interest
in, or some experience of, doing business in Asian markets and wish
to build on their links there.
Doug Mahoney, International Trade Director for UKTI in the West
Midlands, said: "The Doing Business in Asia event will bring
together a Who's Who of experts on Asia. As we look to grow our
businesses, nobody can afford to ignore the opportunities which are
represented in that part of the world. Attending this event is sure
to give any business a fantastic head start."
