Telford-based GKN Wheels will once again be supporting the
Shropshire County Show, after the company announced it will be the
main sponsor for the event to be held at the County Showground,
Shrewsbury, on the 26 and 27 June.
This year, the company will be sponsoring the main arena, which
will showcase many of the exciting attractions taking place, as
well as continuing to support the GKN President's Pavilion. Also,
thanks to support from GKN, the world-famous Red Devils parachute
regiment freefall team will be dropping in to wow the crowds.
The theme of this year's event is 'From Gate to Plate' and the
show's organisers are pleased by the amount of support that has
been shown from local producers and retailers throughout the
county.
Roy Dodd, chairman elect of the Shropshire County Show,
commented: "We are delighted that GKN Wheels is supporting the
show. We have a strong relationship with the company, having worked
with them for a number of years, and really appreciate their
continued support which has allowed us to create a show, that this
year, will be bigger and better than ever."
David Eastham, sales and marketing director at GKN Wheels,
added: "GKN Wheels has strong links with the local community
as we have been based in Telford for more than a century and our
support for the Shropshire County Show is just one way we can give
something back. .
"GKN Wheels Telford is this year celebrating its 100th
anniversary of manufacturing pressed steel wheels, the first of
which was made at our plant here in Telford. We also have
strong links with the agricultural sector, supplying wheels to
farming equipment manufacturers in the UK and worldwide and so we
are particularly delighted to be supporting the show again in this
special anniversary year."
