A multidisciplinary structural and civil consulting engineering firm, with locations throughout the East Midlands, is continuing to buck the trend by opening a new office in Nottingham.

Despite the challenging financial climate which has had a devastating effect on many businesses in the construction and property industry, Waldeck is continuing to succeed and achieve its ambitious plans for growth.

As part of this latest development Waldeck has acquired the well known name of Elliott & Brown Ltd, which was founded in 1903 and is the longest established civil and structural engineering consultancy in Nottingham.

The Nottingham office opened today, Monday 28th June, on Clarendon Street, just months after the launch of Waldeck's office in Northampton in January 2010.

Waldeck, whose head office is based in Sleaford, now operates from six locations throughout the east of England - the others being Lincoln, Peterborough and Hull - and is one of the fastest growing consultant engineers in the UK.

Dan Wright from Nottingham has recently been appointed by Waldeck as the Associate Director to head up the Nottingham operation along with Design Engineer Wayne Howland - also a local man - with more staff currently being recruited.

"I'm delighted to be joining such a dynamic and progressive firm," said Dan. "In the current economic climate most businesses, especially those in this industry, have had to downsize and just managing to stand still is no mean feat for others.

"To have actually been continually growing and expanding through the duration of this recession is a massive achievement and I look forward to driving the business forward throughout Nottinghamshire and the rest of the East Midlands."

Managing Director Paul Waldeck added: "There's no doubt times have been tough in the property and construction industry but we're continuing to win contracts and forging ahead with our plans for expansion. The key to our success is down to diversification as well as our excellent team of talented people who will always go that extra mile to deliver successful projects.

"Nottingham is a great location and there are some really exciting opportunities available in the marketplace, particularly in the manufacturing, retail and commercial sectors.

"We also have a proven track record of success in sustainable design which will stand us in good stead.

"The new office will enable us to work more closely with existing and prospective clients in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding area and we look forward to showing people the services we offer and turning their potential projects into reality."
