The Store Room gets extra space in Leicester

Self-storage provider, The Store Room, is investing £50,000 into its Leicester storage and office facility to support growing demand for its services.

The Store Room will be expanding alongside its current 20,000sq ft facility on Hinckley Road in Leicester by an extra 10,000sq ft in July 2010. This will allow for 60 additional storage rooms, workshops and offices, suitable for start up businesses or domestic household storage customers.

In the last 12 months, the Leicester facility has seen a 40% increase sales, with savvy customers using its bespoke storage solutions for various needs. This, along with a significant 50% of people now booking via The Store Room's online portal, has driven the need for extra space.

Paul Siner, operations manager at The Store Room, said: "We are excited about the Leicester expansion as it will allow us to cater for more start-up and entrepreneurial businesses in the region. We currently have very limited availability and the expansion can't come soon enough. In the current economic climate, where long leases aren't attractive to business owners, they need something flexible and possibly short-term that they can grow from."
