advisor Helen Spiby to campaign for votes
A college lecturer from Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire is
calling on people in the East Midlands to help him win £7,500
as part of a nationwide competition from Miller Homes.
Peter Clark, who works at Stephenson College in Coalville, has
already won a £1000 worth of holiday vouchers as part of the
contest to mark the housebuilder's 75th anniversary. He is
considering using them to hold a reunion with friends in Canada,
most of whom he has not seen for the last 20 years.
Peter now goes forward as the East Midlands' representative to
battle it out with seven other UK regions to scoop the top cash
prize, with the winner decided via an online vote, taking place on
the Miller Homes website between June 7 and 21.
"I was really surprised to get the call to tell me that I had
won the holiday prize draw," commented Peter, "but to be told that
I could also win £7,500 was absolutely amazing.
"I've now had a few days to also think about what I'd do with
the money if I won. I have a very large extended family and we had
a tradition of getting together on Boxing Day, with everyone
bringing a different dish to create a big family feast. We haven't
all been able to be in the same place at the same time for around
16 years now as we all live at different ends of the country, so I
would love to use the money to bring everyone together for a big
family Christmas as it would really mean a lot to me!"
Friends, family and colleagues of Peter are now lobbying hard to
get as many votes as possible for their man, helping him to secure
the cash and lead the East Midlands to victory.
Joy Goodman, sales director at Miller Homes East Midlands added:
"The whole of the regional sales team is behind Peter and we'll be
helping to drum up as much support as possible. To coin a phrase
made famous by reality TV - Peter needs your vote. As an added
bonus we're giving away an iPod Shuffle a day in a prize draw that
you are automatically entered into when you place your vote."
The competition is part of Miller Homes' birthday celebrations.
Throughout May, the developer gave away 15 iPods and eight sets of
holiday vouchers - with a further 14 iPod Shuffles and £7,500
in cash to give away in June.
