Glorious sunshine and dazzling dresses descended on Warwick
Racecourse as hundreds of people attended the venue's Ladies' Day
event.
The event provided a local alternative to the other major racing
fixture in the country on the day - Ladies' Day at Ascot, in
Berkshire.
Coventry and Leamington-based accountants and financial experts
Harrison Beale and Owen teamed up with international peace-building
charity Cord, which is also based in Leamington, to host the
fundraising event at the Hampton Street course.
The event raised over £2,000 for Cord which works to help
rebuild communities and homes, provide education and promote a
peaceful future in areas badly affected by conflict.
Mark Ashfield, a director at Harrison Beale and Owen, said: "We
were delighted at how smoothly the event ran and we would like to
pass on our thanks to Warwick Racecourse for their support in
helping us to organise this extremely successful day.
"It was very well attended and we raised a significant amount of
money which will make a real difference to people's lives."
Guests took in a total of eight races on the day and sponsors
were treated to finger buffet lunches and champagne.
Kit Lawry, from Cord, said: "It was a great day out and a
wonderful platform for people to hear about our work.
"Race goers were generous whether they won or lost and we thank
them all for that."
