Nottingham-based call centre Domestic & General (D&G)
had a staggering response to an open day held at the premises last
week with over 400 potential applicants attending and over 260
applications completed for full and part time positions.
On the day there were a series of events including a session of
The D&G Den, a Dragon's Den based event, a raffle, a Wii
challenge and a cake stall, raising £585.39 in total for the
NSPCC.
The day included a number of activities and information about
D&G and the opportunities that it offers its
employees.
Keri McGahon, recruitment coordinator, said: "We are delighted
with how the day went - we were pleased to show potential employees
our office and how it works. We have had some fantastic
applications and we are keen for anyone else that is interested to
apply as well.
"We have some fantastic benefits to offer potential employees,
with part time and full time positions available, we are also open
to recruit people from different backgrounds - they don't need call
centre experience previously - many skills are transferable.
"There is a great camaraderie with our staff here - there is
always something going on such as our Wellness Wednesday programme
which recently included a Wii Fit challenge for employees. We offer
flexible working and we have won awards for the way we recruit
people of all ages - we have employees currently working here
ranging from 16 to 73 years!"
Keri added: "Retention figures have risen this year at D&G
with employee retention increasing by an impressive 11%. This
fantastic increase demonstrates that the environment at D&G
offers a professional yet fun place to work in and has successfully
incorporated a highly diverse and age positive employee base!"
