With a combined 77 years clocked at the trade counter serving
the plumbers and heating installers of Walsall, Greg and Jean Booth
are some of the longest serving employees on record.
On Wednesday 30th June the couple will be retiring from PTS
Walsall on Brickyard Road to complete life-long ambitions and enjoy
even more time in each other's company.
Branch Manager Greg and Sales Co-ordinator Jean, who've been
married for 35 years, celebrated their retirement with staff and
customers at a farewell dinner, before jetting off on a dream
cruise to Alaska.
Greg joined the company that would eventually become PTS 44
years ago and has seen it grow into a national company of over 300
branches. He said: "PTS has always made me feel important. I've
always been treated as an individual and never a number. I will
hold my experiences and memories of PTS close to my heart."
Greg and Jean are looking forward to a relaxing retirement
together and plan to spend their time visiting new places, enjoying
life with their three year old grandchild and keeping fit by
swimming and ballroom dancing. Both are also keen coin collectors
and plan to research their family tree together.
PTS Regional Managing Director John Vaughan, added: "Greg and
Jean have worked for PTS almost all their married life and are both
well loved members of the team. We want to thank them for all their
years of hard work. We will miss them dearly and wish them the best
of luck for their retirement."
