A Nottingham-based leading supplier of composite and bespoke
communications cables and connectors is making sure that British
holiday makers don't have to give up digital TV this season thanks
to its fibre optic cable.
Webro Cable and Connectors has successfully completed a trial of
its specialist fibre cable at Haven's Seton Sands Holiday Village
in East Lothian, Scotland, in time for the summer holiday
period.
The trial was carried out through Webro's partner installation
company TV Distribution Services and the companies are now working
together on a programme of installations at four further sites -
Kiln Park Holiday Centre in Tenby, Presthaven Sands Holiday Park in
Prestatyn, Hafanley/Mor Holiday Park in Gwynedd and Burnham-on-Sea
Holiday Village in Somerset.
Roger Webster, managing director of Webro, said: "The fibre
optic cable is designed to be buried directly into the ground and
withstand the harshest of conditions. It is capable of feeding
signals over extremely long distances, giving holiday parks and
other customers a variety of options when planning an installation,
and giving visitors greater choice."
Seton Sands is the first Haven Holiday site to go-live with the
equipment, having all caravans, chalets and apartments on the new
development area hooked-up with Webro's fibre optic cable, ensuring
guests have a top-quality TV signal during their well-earned
breaks.
Roger added: "Digital TV is not something that you have to be at
home to experience now, it is a much bigger part of modern living.
This programme of installation is a great step forward for Webro
and our expansion of supplying into the holiday and leisure
industry."
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Webro supplies its
high-quality cable products to a diverse range of sectors, from the
top five UK TV and satellite distributors and top hotel chains to
the Highways Agency and the London Underground network.
