Midlands-based truck dealer, the Hartshorne Group has clinched a
major maintenance contract to service more than 400 trailers for
leading UK retailer Boots.
The contract - servicing and repairing 430 trailers - will be
carried out on behalf of Lawrence David Trailers Asset Management
of Peterborough.
Hartshorne - with its major depots in Burton-on-Trent and
Walsall - has undertaken the transfer of eight full-time employees
to handle the huge contract which will involve work at Boots'
headquarters in Nottingham and at Hartshorne's workshops in
Stretton, Burton on Trent. Hartshorne will assume total
responsibility for all Boots trailers routine scheduled repairs and
maintenance.
Hartshorne (East Midlands) director Kevin Taylor said, "Boots
trailer fleet is a very important contract for both us and Lawrence
David Trailers. We are delighted to be awarded this contract. It is
a tremendous vote of confidence in the service we already provide
throughout the region via our Volvo Truck and our Truck and Trailer
Solutions division in Stretton."
The Boots fleet of trailers are largely supplied by leading UK
trailer company Lawrence David. Hartshorne is the main dealer for
the whole of central England for Lawrence David and this contract
is a welcome boost for Hartshorne Truck and Trailer Solutions and
the Hartshorne Group as a whole.
Hartshorne's new Truck & Trailer Solutions division based in
Burton on Trent, has recently been awarded VOSA large goods vehicle
MOT preparation and test accreditation and can now offer truck, bus
and trailer operators full MOT testing as well as the existing
range of commercial vehicle repair and maintenance services.
