Lincolnshire children with terminal and life-threatening illneses and their families will now be able to enjoy a welcome holiday break at Center Parcs thanks to a night at the gaming wheels by staff  at a county family law firm.

Partners and staff of Sills & Betteridge solicitors, which has offices at Lincoln, Boston, Coningsby and Spilsby, took to the roulette wheels placing their bets to raise £1,300.00  at a charity casino night held at the Woodhall Spa Hotel, Woodhall Spa for the Lincolnshire branch of When You Wish Upon a Star, a charity that helps children with terminal illnesses and their families and carers.

"We hired a casino, a professional auctioneer, Jazz band and held a raffle and auction thanks to some really generous donations from local companies which enabled us to provide some lovely prizes. Most of all we were so pleased to be able to hand over the proceeds to such a worthwhile charity which will enable these children and their families to enjoy some special and valuable time together in a holiday environment," said Jayne Shepherd from Sills and Betteridge.

Ed Sharpe, Wills Trust and Probate partner at the firm's Boston office handed over the proceeds to Pat Wright who runs the When You Wish Upon a Star charity's Lincolnshire/Yorkshire regional Office.

The money-making event was also held as a special thank you by the partners to all Sills & Betteridge employees who had helped the family-based practice reach a 100-task community milestone marking the firm's 250th birthday.

"We are very grateful to Sills and Betteridge for organising this event and to raising money to take these deserving children and their families to Center Parcs," said Joanne Wright from the charity's  'When You Wish Upon a Star' Grimsby office.
