Expanding insurance broker Brett & Randall has taken on
three new staff and plans to take on a further eight as part of its
plans to build on its position as one of the area's largest
independent brokers.
The move, which follows a management buyout, brings the number
of new employees hired by the Leicester company in the last year to
six, with the next phase of new staff members set to join over the
next two years.
Director Chris Hutchins says the company, which employs 50
staff, plans to continue growing.
He said: "It is extremely satisfying that we have not only been
able to retain staff, despite the recession, but have actually
taken on new employees.
"The management buyout has made us stronger, and the turbulent
economic conditions are creating new openings in the insurance
scene for successful, go-ahead firms, which we are keen to
explore."
The buyout, which happened at the beginning of this year, saw
the management team take a major stake in the company.
Led by existing shareholder Ashwin Mistry, the deal has given
younger members of the team and the opportunity to shape the future
of the business.
