Following hot on the heels of promoting Green Office Week to the
local business community in April, Staffordshire office supplies
company Fenns is doing even more for the environment by pledging
financial support to Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.
Pledging its support to Staffordshire Wildlife Trust for a
second year running, Fenns, one of the area's oldest companies, is
committed to supporting the local area in which it operates and has
made a commitment to make year on year sustainable improvements in
environmental goals both in the products its supplies, the way in
which the company operates and the charitable donations the company
makes.
Fenns work closely with many national organisations helping them
to make simple cost effective changes that result in positive
outcomes for the environment but wanted to do something at a grass
roots level and so back in 2008 chose to support Staffordshire
Wildlife Trust and become a Corporate Member.
Fenns Sales Director, Martin Harris comments: "We believe that
business profitability and environmental responsibility go hand in
hand. We strive to achieve this in both principle and practice and
have developed two basic principles; wherever we do business, we
will operate with respect and sensitivity to the environment and we
also encourage our employees to take individual steps to protect
and restore the environment. Fenns is dedicated to
researching and developing new ways of working to reduce disruption
to the environments we work in, and our partnership with the Trust
will enable the sharing of best practice and the development of a
close working relationship. The corporate membership will
ensure that the wildlife charity is able to carry on with its vital
conservation work throughout the Staffordshire Region and we would
encourage more local companies to support them."
Regional Corporate Manager for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust
Yvonne Stevens comments: "It is wonderful that such a recognised
and respected company such as Fenns is supporting us. Our
corporate members financial support will enable us to protect the
natural heritage of the region for future generations to enjoy.
In Staffordshire there are currently 49 companies supporting the
Wildlife Trust. The businesses come from a wide variety of sectors
including colleges, universities, prisons, manufacturing,
developers and aggregate and cement.
The income generated by the Corporate Membership Scheme supports
conservation, education and community programmes throughout
Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent. The contribution made by
companies such as Fenns helps us to make our county a much better
place for wildlife and the people who live, work and visit
