The good and bad of how and why managers and directors can
protect themselves and their business to ensure sustainability and
commercial viability are to be served up at a new series of
breakfast workshops run by commercial litigation lawyers at
Nottingham firm Berryman.
The series launches on the 30th June with a session on
Restrictive Covenants. Commercial litigation specialist, solicitor
Gavin Evans explains: "Businesses have to look ahead and plan for
the possibility of a senior manager or high-ranking employee
leaving for pastures new, which can have a potentially devastating
impact on the business, its sustainability and invaluable customer
base.
"This session will demonstrate what documentation and procedures
a business can put in place to protect the business, whilst
highlighting the pitfalls and effect of getting things wrong and
not protecting the business in the event of an employee
leaving."
The series continues on the 30th September with a session on
'Directors Duties and Shareholder Rights', followed by briefings in
January and March 2011 which will cover 'Contract Terms - the good,
the bad and the unenforceable', and 'Misrepresentation'.
All events are free to attend, include a light breakfast and
take place at Berryman's Nottingham offices. To find out more or
