With the nation's public sector clearly in tatters it is now up
to the private sector to make its mark. The future of Britain is in
the hands of an already increasing band of Entrepreneurs whose
foresight and courage can lead us onto the road to recovery.
These were the words of an accomplished Shropshire entrepreneur
after the delivery of today's Budget.
Mark Harris, whose own insight into business growth and
development earned him 11th place in the Inner City 100 Register of
fastest growing companies, is boss of The Business Company, a
consultancy which has helped many local and national businesses to
survive and grow during the recession.
"The Chancellor has said that it will be businesses, not
government, that will create the jobs of the future and he is
right," says Mark. "Entrepreneurs have ambition and vision that
goes beyond the horizon. Their will to win and succeed is paramount
to their own survival - and that is what differentiates between
them and the public sector."
"Resilience and tenacity are going to be key to businesses
getting through the next twelve months and no-one is claiming it
will be an easy ride. But with patience, courage and the bit
between their teeth, Entrepreneurs who research and test their
markets, who plan, plan and plan again to adapt to new situations
and who stay within realistic and clearly defined parameters, will
succeed."
