As the incidence of cyber security breaches hits an all-time
global high and over 44 percent of UK companies admit to suffering
at least one costly breach of their IT systems, businesses can
discover how to fight back against the hackers at a briefing
session run by specialist fraud lawyers in Birmingham.
The 'E-fraud Breakfast Seminar' organised and hosted by law firm
Challinors, will feature some of the Midlands' leading specialists
on business e-fraud, including 'ethical hacker' Jason Hart, who
will demonstrate how alarmingly simple it is for hackers to
penetrate firewalls and access business information from
networks.
A respected commentator on information security, Jason held
senior positions within organisations including Ernst & Young's
Information Security Assurance and Advisory Services practice,
prior to launching specialist information security risk and
solutions company CRYPTOCard. Jason has created and developed
entire security frameworks as well as Information Security
Assessment Methodology for private and public sector organisations
including the NHS and FTSE 100 organisations.
Lance Ashworth, QC at Birmingham's St Philips Chambers and joint
heads of Challinors specialist Fraud & Asset Recovery
Department Arun Chauhan and Mark Kenkre will detail the legal
considerations for a business of breaches to their IT systems.
Challinors' Arun Chauhan comments: "Hackers are increasingly
making headway into penetrating business firewalls to access
confidential and sensitive information on commercial IT networks.
Our line-up of speakers at this the fifth session in our series of
practical breakfast briefings focussed on business fraud, will
highlight some of the tactics used by hackers to access IT
networks, but deliver some practical guidance on steps to take to
protect IT systems."
The event is free to attend and takes place at Hotel du Vin,
Birmingham on Thursday 24th June 2010, from 7.30am to 9am and
includes a light breakfast.
