Alex Hanna and Tim Holtham, surveyors from the Birmingham office
of national commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton
(LSH), threw themselves out of a plane last month in a bid to raise
money for the children's medical research charity, SPARKS (SPort
Aiding medical Research for KidS).
Joined by six other colleagues from across LSH's national
network of offices, Alex and Tim took part in the tandem sky dive
at RAF Weston on the Green in Bicester, Oxfordshire. Strapped to a
highly qualified tandem instructor the eight fearless staff plunged
from a height of 11,500 ft, free falling for around 45 seconds at
speeds of up to 131 mph.

The team has so far raised in excess of £4,500 for SPARKS,
with further donations still coming in.
Alex commented: "Considering I was throwing myself out a plane,
I actually felt a lot calmer on the day than I thought I would. It
was an amazing experience which I would recommend to everyone, and
being able to raise a considerable amount of money for SPARKS made
it all the more worthwhile."
Tim added: "The experience was one I will not forget for a long
time and it was great to know that LSH was able to raise so much
money for SPARKS, making the beer afterwards all the more
satisfying."
