Turnover up by £2million for Nottingham based recruitment firm

Notts-based Frontline Recruitment predicts a massive £2 million increase in turnover this year, beating the economic downturn and continuing to recruit staff.

Partner Tony Wilmot reports that in 2009 Frontline generated a turnover of more than £8 million - and expects this figure to rise to £10.5million in 2010.

In spite of recent figures showing that unemployment is at an all time high, the company has defied the downturn and this 25% increase is the equivalent to an additional 160 full time positions being created with the firm.

Tony says: "The recession hasn't passed us by unscathed and we definitely saw a shift in the need for temporary staff as opposed to permanent, with companies being more cautious about committing to full time and permanent members of staff. This has ensured not only our survival, but also we've continued to grow.

"Our food industry and manufacturing recruitment is still going strong. We currently work with several of the largest players in the market place. We place in excess of 700 - 1,000 people a day into temporary and contract roles.

"Our specialist technical recruiters have allowed even greater growth in market share and further strengthened the business."

Frontline is celebrating 10 years since its creation in 1990 when Tony and partner Elliott Kidd launched Frontline in a small office in Mansfield.

Today, Frontline places hundreds of people in employment across the Midlands on a daily basis, which during the recent economic doom and gloom is definitely something to celebrate. In 2009 Frontline generated in excess of £2 million gross profit, and acquired 162 new clients which alone, generated a whopping £1.45 million. The company also expanded its expertise and branched out into the IT market.

Whilst a large number of firms were shedding jobs, Frontline bucked the trend during the recession and continued to provide its clients with a service they needed.

The firm now has its head office in Nottingham city centre and has branches across the region in Mansfield, Derby and Leicester and Bradford, and employs 40 staff at its offices.

Frontline provides both temporary and permanent recruitment solutions to a variety of industries, including the public sector, manufacturing and production, warehouse and distribution, domestic services and packaging and is expanding its client range continuously.

Tony added: "It is quite unbelievable that we are now in our tenth year of trading. We opened our first office in Mansfield with a predicted turnover of £900,000, but the business quickly rocketed and over the next 15 months we generated a turnover of £2.5million.

"In July 2001 we opened our Nottingham office, which is now our HQ. This was followed by the Leicester office in November the same year, we have since opened offices in Derby and Bradford. Things have been pretty good for us ever since and even in the downturn we are breaking the mould and continue to take on new clients on a month by month basis. I a confident that 2010 is going to be a bumper year for us. Our early sales figures are indicative that we are heading towards our sales targets, if things carry on this way, we may even beat them."
