A Shropshire networking group has donated £250 to a county
specialist school after being told of the sterling work they
do.
The Severn Business Network group, which meets at the Prostar
Stadium in Shrewsbury, decided to give a donation to the Severndale
School in Monkmoor.
Jeremy Lloyd is a member of the network group with his business
JEM Finance but is also a governor at Severndale as his son Nathan
attends the school.
He said: "My son goes to the school and what they do is
excellent work. Nathan has been there now for eight years and he
will be here for another six and I cannot think of a better place
for him to be."
Chris Davies, headmaster at Severndale, accepted the cheque from
Mr Lloyd.
He said: "Thank you so much for the donation. It is really great
that local businesses are getting involved and supporting the
school.
"We have just over 300 children now compared to 20 children when
we opened in 1995. It is extremely costly to provide all of the
equipment needed for children with special needs so all donations
are very much appreciated."
The Severn Business Network group is made up of local businesses
working together for each other and members voted to donate money
to charities and good causes in the area on a regular basis.
Rhea Alton, chair of the networking group, said: "Jeremy told us
of all of the good work the school does and the invaluable service
they provide for hundreds of youngsters with special needs.
"We hope our donation will help the wonderful staff in
continuing to provide that invaluable service for children in and
around the county who benefit from their work."
Severn Business Network meets at the Prostar Stadium every
Thursday morning and is always looking for more Shropshire
businesses to join the group.
