Staff at a Shropshire hotel raised £500 for Help for
Heroes after opening its doors for a casino night.
Staff and customers at The Bellstone Hotel in Shrewsbury donned
their suits and posh frocks for the black tie event on May
2.
The bar and restaurant was transformed with roulette wheels,
poker and blackjack tables as dozens of people tried their hands at
the games on offer.
David Higgins, manager at The Bellstone, said: "We had Champagne
and canapés on arrival, a hot buffet, live entertainment and
all guests were given $500 in chips, the night ran smoothly, all
the guests enjoyed themselves and most importantly we managed to
raise £500. All of the money raised will go to the Help for
Heroes campaign.
"We chose to host a charity event so people could enjoy
themselves whilst still raising money for a worthy cause. Help for
Heroes is an established charity that is close to everyone's heart
especially with the current political situation. It made us
immensely proud to be giving something back to theses heroes that
are risking their lives for us on a daily basis. This was the least
we could do and we do hope to support this charity by further
events that we will be holding at The Bellstone Hotel and keep
raising more money."
