A top Shropshire business consultant who is gearing up for a
cycle ride that will see him pedalling his way from London to Paris
on June 23rd to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation will
be applying his business disciplines to help him achieve his
target.
Mark Harris, managing director of The Business Company in
Shrewsbury and a director on the Board of Velvet Group, was
inspired to take on the challenge after cycling buddy, Simon Davis,
underwent major heart surgery last year. 45-year old Simon, who has
since made a full recovery, will be riding alongside Mark and
another Shropshire man, Richard Ward. All three men live in
Berrington.
The gruelling trip will take the intrepid cyclists three days to
complete. Mark, who describes himself on his charity web page as 'a
competitive and accomplished entrepreneur with a passion and
enthusiasm for business and success' says: "Despite not being fully
fit last year due to an injury, I managed to complete the Lake
Vyrnwy Marathon for charity. This year, as my personal commitment
to "giving something back" for the success I have been fortunate to
enjoy in my life, I thought I'd try something I could do sitting
down - and London to Paris on a bike sounded good."
"I chose The British Heart Foundation as my sponsorship
beneficiary because of the amazing recovery of my close friend
Simon Davis after he received life-saving heart surgery. We are all
very focussed and positive about this challenge. As British science
fiction writer, Arthur C Clark, once said: The only way to find the
limits of the possible is by going beyond them to the impossible."
