A Shrewsbury dental practice and its staff have once more gained
special accreditation for excellent patient care, and quality
standards in dentistry.
The accreditation was awarded to The Dental Spa on Oxon Business
Park after the practice and its dentists were inspected by an
external assessor as part of the Denplan Excel Accreditation
Programme.
Explaining what was involved in the assessment procedure, Deb
Price, Practice Manager at The Dental Spa which is the central hub
for Velvet Group, said: "A Denplan assessor spent a whole day at
the practice checking our policies, procedures, cross-infection
control, staff training records, and dentists' own personal
training. Everything connected to patient care and best practice
was assessed against strict criteria and, as well as the practice
being assessed, each dentist was also assessed, separately."
For Dr Thomas Norlin DDS Odont Lic, Clinical Director at The
Dental Spa, and Dr Emma Preston BDS the assessment was nothing new,
but it was a first time experience for Dr Emily Wright BDS who
joined the Dental Spa in 2009 from the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
where she was Senior House Officer in the Maxillofacial Department.
Emily was delighted when she passed with flying colours.
