Accountants and Business Advisors, Smith Cooper has appointed
Chris Taylor to the newly created position of Managing Director, at
their Nottingham Office.
This appointment follows the recent promotion of Kelly Boorman
to Director, also in Nottingham, and forms part of Smith Cooper's
plans for growth as business confidence slowly improves.
Chris Taylor joins from technology company LifeSys, but is
better-known as one of the founders of Nottingham corporate finance
boutique Catalyst.
Apart from a brief spell in Milton Keynes, Chris has been based
in the East Midlands his entire career. He graduated from
Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Accounting &
Finance and after qualifying as a CA joined Coopers & Lybrand,
becoming part of the first corporate finance team based here in the
east Midlands.
In 1992 he was headhunted to join KPMG's highly successful
Corporate Finance team and offered a partnership five years later,
which he turned down. Instead he created Catalyst alongside two
partners, a business that was to grow significantly over the
following 9 years by providing market-leading client service.
Chris says: "It's really great to be back in the Nottingham
professional community. I tried my hand at something different but
really missed the service sector and working alongside Nottingham's
happy band of bankers, lawyers and accountants. I'm now 100%
focussed on growing the Smith Cooper business and delivering advice
to our fantastic client base."
Commenting on the appointment, Managing Partner Andy Delve said
"This is a superb acquisition for Smith Cooper and I am delighted
to welcome Chris to our business".
